On 5 December the department hosted a meeting between students and our graduate Artem Vizhutkin, who works at Megatrade, the largest specialised IT distributor in Ukraine and one of the leading suppliers of equipment and solutions in information technology and communications.
Age 39, married. Hobbies: swimming, skiing, travel
Business Development Director at Megatrade, project IT distribution
Years of study at the Faculty of Instrument Engineering: 1996 to 2002
Professional work in IT in Ukraine: 2001 to the present day
Languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English, German (basic), Polish (learning)
Artem told the students some interesting stories about his time studying at our department and how he chose his career path. He also spoke about the growth of Megatrade and the specifics of its work, and gave the audience his advice on the importance of study and self-development.
Artem did not come alone: he was joined by his colleague Oksana Storozhenko, an HR specialist. Oksana described the company’s team, their main responsibilities and career prospects, and invited 4th and 5th year students to take part in a competitive selection for training and an internship with the possibility of a job at Megatrade afterwards. During the internship students get: training with a mentor, technical training on equipment and business skills training, practical experience of working in a team, and the chance of a job at the company (if they pass the test after training). Importantly, the company pays for the internship and adapts to the student’s study timetable, which matters a great deal!
We thank Artem and Oksana for the meeting and look forward to working together.
