Pre-university training

Pre-university training at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

The pre-university training system includes:

  • preparatory courses that give in-depth training in the entrance exam subjects, tailored to the requirements of specific faculties (open to pupils of grades 10 and 11, fee-paying),4
  • external studies, which flexibly combine full-time and distance learning and let pupils prepare for university admission wherever they live (open to pupils of grades 10 and 11, fee-paying),
  • the department of lyceum and specialised classes, which provides fundamental training for pupils at leading lyceums, gymnasiums and schools using the methods of the Faculty of Pre-University Training (under the relevant agreements).
  • the preparatory department, which offers full-time training for young people who have completed secondary education (fee-paying).
  • To attract talented young people from colleges and technical schools, educational, research and production complexes are being set up at NTUU “KPI” together with specialised institutions.

In total, 18 such complexes have been created, bringing together 58 institutes, colleges and technical schools, with teaching based on integrated curricula. Under the terms of the agreements, graduates of these institutions may be admitted to continue their studies under special programmes with a shortened training period, or to the 2nd or 3rd year to join existing academic groups.
