Competitions:
On 14-15 May the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” hosted the final of the first defence technology project competition in Ukraine. It is held as the defence panel of the well-known Ukrainian festival of innovation projects, Sikorsky Challenge.
Our student Oksana Rutska presented her project “Device for vacuum absorption and wound sanitation” at the competition.
The device for vacuum absorption and wound sanitation is a vacuum therapy, or VAC therapy (vacuum-assisted closure), device with wound sanitation. It is a new and highly effective approach to treating the wound surface, based on combining local negative pressure with the effect of finely sprayed particles of medication.
Combining vacuum absorption with ultrasonic irrigation of the wound surface makes the two treatments complement each other. This helps patients recover faster and leads to quicker healing of wounds, wound surfaces and gunshot wounds.
