The textbook “Computer Modelling of Processes and Systems. Optimisation Methods”, written by department staff S. P. Vysloukh, O. V. Voloshko, H. S. Tymchyk and M. V. Filippova, is now available on the KPI library website.
The textbook presents the most widely used methods of analytical and numerical optimisation and mathematical programming needed to solve practical and research problems in various fields. Particular attention is paid to turning optimisation methods into algorithms and to the specifics of implementing them on a computer. The textbook is divided into separate chapters. Each chapter opens with the essence of the relevant optimisation methods, followed by examples of their practical use, sets of self-assessment tasks and review questions, which help readers understand and learn the material.
The book will be useful for students studying computer modelling and optimisation of processes and systems, and can be used for course and diploma projects, Master’s theses and research work by students, PhD students, engineers and researchers.
