BMI-1 toolmaker’s microscope
Laboratory of Instrument Engineering Technology, Room 172, building 1
Purpose
The BMI-1 toolmaker's microscope is designed to measure, in transmitted and reflected light, external linear dimensions and shaft diameters up to 150 mm in the longitudinal direction and up to 50 mm in the transverse direction, angles of parts up to 360 using the protractor head and the stage, as well as cutters, milling cutters, cams and so on, and templates of any shape and configuration whose size allows them to be placed on the microscope's measuring stage. Dimensions can be determined with the BMI-1 measuring microscope either by reading the values directly from the digital display of the digital readout unit, or by comparing the measured contour with the contour given in the drawing.
Room 172, building 1Description and specifications
The BMI-1 microscope is used in laboratory work for the following courses: instrument engineering technology, materials science, metrology, fundamentals of metrology and information and measurement technology.
